I have found that SBI is the most cost effective one. There is some inconvienience as you have to register with them, but every transfer after that can be accomplished with a fax to their offices.

Yes, there is only one queue, you go ahead and ask them for the status of your application, it's passed 15 month period.
Because of Fragomen audits the DOL audit queue is very big and after announcing dol that they will release the special audited cases to regular queue, but they did nothing as of now.

this number has been thrown around a lot

so maybe 125K applications including families.
this will increase a bit, so let's say 175K or 200K
still quite different from 700K
per that visa bulletin preediction mail from Jan Pedersons lawfirm USCIS recevied 75k applications within 2 days of July. NOT by July 27th. Anyway will need to wait for USCIS stats to see how many they get by Aug 17th, but looking at how most lawfirms are still very busy with 485 filing I would expect a number midway between 200K and 700K (atleast!)

I have also applied for the canadian PR 1.5 months ago. Yesterday I got a letter from canadian consulate to sit for IELTS as I am clamming 16 points on language skill with supporting documents. Now, I do not want to sit for IELTS..is there any way out? Do you guys know any small consulting firm in canada who can give me a HRSDC approved job offer? I will not mind to work for them for a year if I get my PR (it's better then waiting for GC for another 10 years)...

Please don't give incorrect answers.
All three corporation types (C-Corp, S-Corp, and LLC) have limited liability to its shareholders.
The main difference in these corp types are
1. How much record keeping is done
2. The way taxes are computed and filed with IRS
3. The kind of expenses allowed to deduct
4. C-Corp and LLC can carryover profits to next year(s), but S-Corp has to pass on profit (or loss) to the shareholders at the end of every calendar year.
For S-Corp, the shareholders must be Permanent Resident or US Citizen.
I have corporation of my own and this is C-Corp (due to kind of expenses I can deduct and/or write-off). I did all the incorporation work myself without any help from CPA. Incorporation is pretty straight forward and very easy. There are good books in Nolo Press on Corporate Incorporation.

I heard that if you register a LLC in California every year you have to around $800 tax fee, weather you do a business or not, is it true?
If I go with C-Corp, shall I liable to $800 as well, any ideas??

This is what we are doing every day. Our team & QGA are in constant touch with the offices of several senators. We are definitely concentrating on the 2 senators you have named here. Hello, I am trying to get all the sponsor documents together for my parents visitor visa stamping. I am having some problems getting a bank account verification letter. I have a checking account with a bank in Indiana (I used to stay there 2 years back) which I still use regularly. Most of my transactions are performed by internet banking and my pay checks are deposited directly into this bank account by my company. I have requested them to send a verification letter for which they replied in negative as they can do that if only I can be present in person and not over the phone. My current account balance in this account is around $12,000 and I have bank statements for each month going back to Feb' 2007. Can someone let me know hpw to deal with this situation ( I would really hate to drive/fly 700 miles to just get a bank letter).
I also have a problem with other bank deposit I have. It is a exclusively online HSBC savings account and I have $12,000 in this account with statements going back to July 2007. I could not get proper answer from customer service for my request to give me a account verification letter and I am not sure how to deal with this situation either.
Can someone please help me. Is account verification letter from the bank manager a must as mentioned on i-134? Wouldn't the bank statements suffice?

who said it was easy - all im saying is, the PD portability law becomes contradictory when there's no law to prevent employers from withholding I-140 or labor approvals.

As we represent one family can't my wife use my PD and apply I 485 under EB2.
for example If husband is born in a retrogressed country and wife in a non retrogressed country in that case, husband gets a free ride !

I work as a software engineer in India and the US branch of my company has filed a L1-B petition by September 2008. The petition got denied by Nov 18, 2008 stating that I don't possess "specialized knowledge". Knowing that I am the only person who possesses knowledge of one of the company's product, we filed an appeal to re-consider by Dec 18, 2008.
The USCIS moved the case to AAO by Feb 9, 2009. After which there is no status change. The status of the case as reported by the USCIS web site is:
Application Type: I290B, NOTICE OF APPEAL TO THE COMMISSIONER
Current Status: Appeal/Motion/Certification sent to Administrative Appeals Office for review.
Two months have passed by and I don't know how much more time it is going to take. Can someone please tell me how long this process is going to take?
Should we just withdraw this appeal and re-file again? In the meantime can I opt a B1 and work there a few months until the L1-B is approved?
