I opened a SR for non receipt of my FP notice, on 30Oct2007. I got a reply from USCIS exactly after 45 days ( very prompt) notifying me that " my FP has not yet expired or my FP is not yet cleared". Certainly this looks like a canned reply from USCIS which was sent even without looking at my file. I guess they should be more transparent in their process than just sending plain lies.
I also got the same message. NO FP after 2 SR & 1 info pass (case transferred from NSC to TSC).

We're anxiously waiting for the receipt notice in the mail...

I called them and reached an IO officer and told her that I see my checks are cashed and there is a receipt number behind the check but its illegible and can she confirm the numbers for me. She asked for DOB, address, full name etc. and then gave me the receipt numbers for EAD, AP and AOS.
But if your checks are cashed then the receipt notice must be in the mail.:)

Application Sent on June 30th. Recd in NSC on July 2nd. I had applied only 485 at that time. Sent the other forms later with the Fedex receipt no. Waiting for EAD/AP receipt now!!
I saw a few receipts/EAD's come out for NSC filers iwth TSC I140 and seems like this has stopped a bit. I haven't seen a lot of these receipts in the last couple of days... whats going on at TSC??????????????????????????????????????

I really like this idea.... Actually if north Indians didn't rule Central government in India for such a long time (before PV Narasimha Rao), south Indians would be better off in India itself !!! Then north Indians would be citizens of USA in no time, and South Indians (in India) would have been happy about it!!!

I take frequent trips to India and all of them are extremely satisfying, and many times the thought has crossed my mind about the possiblity of moving back but it will take some time for changes to happen for the good and that is because i think,
We, Indians have a basic mental flaw wherein we shy away from unpleasant confrontation regardless of the merits of our case or the adverse consequences that such inertia engenders. The net result is that we are unable to translate our moral convictions into practical reality allowing law abiding citizens to be held hostage to the tantrums of a belligerent and corrupt minority, who call the shots in most places, right from the bottom to the top , in any sphere or area...(rather than talent and merit that should call the shots )

Please write a letter to CIS Ombudsman and they will open a case with USCIS to follow up and it will have results. I have done it once and I got the response from USCIS faster.

Any idea how long it takes for a decision once it has been assigned to an officer?
My wife's case was assigned to an officer on Aug 11th.
in my case iwas exactly 3 weeks.
Someone else mentioned on this forum that the officer will clear all the cases assigned to him/her within 30 days.

To better be on safe side to get it stamped on my passport. I took info pass on 8-11-08 it will be almost 30 days

They say you will become actual permanent resident when you get the card The card is important.
As replied by Desi3933, it is incorrect to my knowledge. Approval notice it self is a proof that you are a Permanent Resident. The stamp in the passport works for us till we get the physical card. I think you will get it on 9/11/08 9Infopass appointment date).

Thanks for the update. Let me share my concern with the CIR. Do you think that someone (lawmakers) is going to officially vote for the CIR to die? I don't believe so. Discussions, debates, political bickering and fingerpointing can drag on for months and even years because no one is officially willing to kill it for obvious political reasons. How long do you think we (IV) can wait until we start pushing for other bills?
Appreciate your feedback.

There are various degrees of cursing and you were clearly crossing the line. I dont think the IV forum is a place to be "innovative" with cuss words.
If you are that "innovative", why dont you write that letter yourself. Why are you looking for the support of the IV community?
What have YOU done for the IV community except ask everyone to join you in your tiny specific micro-action items which benefit only a small fraction of the community like 5 people who have joined this law suit. Is that your definition of "innovation"? Coz if it is, I would much rather be a LOWLY Eb3 and fight for a common cause than be an "upper class" Eb2 fighting for just myself.

I know some senior members previously indicated in these forums that there is a difference between a "U"-Unavailable and a retrogressed date of 2003 for example.
